Just to the SW of Last of The Summer Wine's Holmfirth lies a little gem... Digley Reservoir.
There are 2 free car parks, one offering picnic facilities. You can join the circular walk from either, pick clockwise or anti clockwise and off you go.
See you back at the car park. The walk itself talks you through trees, up and down hill (with great views from the top, across the reservoir wall and across a moorland path.
The total walk doesn't take that long really, it's a moderate stroll, but dogs can free to roam, and there are numerous paths leading off into the hills if you're feeling more adventurous.
All in all, a wonderful Sunday afternoon stroll to walk off your Sunday lunch.
