Now, should any visitors to your web site live in the areas of Southall, Greenford or Northolt in Middlesex, all they need to do is find their nearest access point to the Grand Union Canal towpath.
This is the Paddington branch of the G.U.C.
The stretch I know best runs from Spikes Bridge Park in Southall to Horsenden hill in Perivale.
There are far too many access points for me to mention.
Leaving Spikes Bridge Park, with the bridge on your left, just follow the towpath along.
The flora and fauna is amazing at any time of the year.
Along the way, several bridges will take you over to open spaces which are a haven for the local dogs.
The accompanying picture was taken from the next bridge down.
Further along Ealing council have turned derelict land into an open area with numerous foot paths adjacent to the A40.
Passing under the A40 and a short way along and you are in Northolt where another bridge takes you to another area of open space.
You will eventually arrive at Horsenden Hill, again an excellent area for dogs.
Look out for the Kingfishers along the way.
Alternatively, you could leave Spikes Bridge Park, go over the bridge and join up with the Hillingdon Trail.
This has it's own web site.

The glorious countryside on the Grand Union Canal.
There's very little in the way of refreshments along the way.
