Walthamstow is perhaps not the first place you think of when looking for somewhere to walk the dog but Hollow Pond is an oasis to East Londoners.
A large pond, surrounded by woods and a huge field provides a wonderful place to stretch those legs and shrug off the hustle and bustle of London.
There are a couple of carparks and you're free to just wander around. The woods provide a haven for kids on their bikes as it's full of humps and bumps and the field is a great place to let the dog have a good run around.
There are even boats on the pond in summertime and we have seen people taking their dogs with them for a punt around the pond.
It's a terrfic place for birdwatching too. All in all Hollow Pond is a great place to escape to he countryside while still being inside the North Circular.
One warning however, there is a bit of a litter problem at Hollow Pond so take care. It's shame as it does spoil it in places but I guess these days it's hard to expect anything... we are in London here.

An woodland and water oasis for East Londoners.
There are a few car parks, a couple of refreshment kiosks, boating on the pond and even Alfred Hitchcocks birth place over the road! No stiles and it's all flat.
