Pull up in the free car park and there's a full colour map at the edge of the park that tells you everything you need to know. But at a first glance, it may seem a little disappointing to dog owners as dogs must be kept on a lead in all area but the Colliery Field.
But don't fret, as the Colliery Field is very very big and is the perfect place to let your dog have a really good run. You can of course then take in the trails and gardens with your dog on a lead.
So yes, perhaps it's not the most dog friendly place in the world, but there's such an expanse of open space for your dog to run, it definitely warrants a mention on Walking With Dogs.
UPDATE...
Well I've just come back for another trip here, this time armed with a map I got from the tourist office, and it seems there are paths everywhere to explore.
You do have to keep your dog on a lead but after he's had a good run on the Colliery Field I sure he won't mind.
There are a network of paths around the Hall, through wildlife gardens, woods, fields and there are information points dotted around everywhere.
There are even a couple of sculpture you may come across including 30 or so huge metal poles anchored in the ground, angled and pointing into the sky!
It's best to keep a copy of the map with you though as there are so many paths (some leading you out of the grounds) it's easy to pick the wrong one.

A very very big exercise field.
There's a free car park, picnic areas, a great kids playground and a helpful visitor information centre. The Bronte Way runs straight through the country park.
On my second visit I got a map from the visitor centre... well worth it!
