Walks
Upper Ryburn Valley, West Yorkshire
Starting in the picturesque village of Ripponden, climb the hillside and soon you'll have far-reaching views of the valleys of the Ryburn with streams, sheep, cows, horses enroute. The walk encompasses three reservoirs. One of the farmyards have a couple of mad dogs, but thankfully (?) they are tied up. Stop for lunch at a ruin of a farm outhouse (ripe for renovation !). Onwards passing the view of one reservoir, and onto the next. Round this one and onto the one with the view. Through more woods and onto a backwater road, eventually gaining access to another wood with a stream (good for dogs who like to get wet !). This path meanders along and gets back to the start of the walk.
